HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Third Thursday Chocolate Crawl is coming up in Hutchinson Feb. 17.
We have seventeen businesses in friendly competition with each other," said Loribeth Reynolds with Hutch Rec. "They are wanting to become the 2022 Chocolate Crawl champion."
You never know what you'll find downtown as part of the Chocolate Crawl.
"They can tend to get pretty creative with what they cook up," Reynolds said. "We have had everything from chocolate bacon to truffles to hot cocoa. You name it, it's down there to sample. Participants are asked to vote after they sample these chocolate treats, so there's going to be marked, designated spots for people to drop in their vote for a chocolate stop. We have four local wineries that have decided to join in on our fun. They are going to be handing out free samples of their wine, as well as having bottles for sale."
The stops for chocolate and wine include: Holly's Sweet Treats, Toy Depot, Board & Brush, Sugartime Confections, Details Event Planning and Rentals, Crow & Co., Furniture & Mattress Clearance Center, Sleep Shoppe and Furniture Gallery, Frameography, Bride 2 Be, The Hickory StiK, Gale Wall Photography, Reffner’s Bookends, Splinters n Rust, Lit Studios Paint and Pottery, The Wool Market & DIY School, Sandhills Brewing and Salt City Brewing Company. Participating Wineries are Rosewood Winery & Meadery, Wyldewood Cellars, Smoky Hill Vineyards & Winery and Meadowlark Farm. There are just 150 tickets for the event.
"Tickets are $15 a piece," Reynolds said. "You can get tickets through HutchRec.com, you can get tickets through social media. We are asking people this year to pick up their ticket at Sandhills Brewing the night of the event."
You'll pick up your ticket between 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. and they will direct you where to start the crawl, so they can even out the crowd as they get started. Bring your ticket to Salt City Brewing at 7:30 p.m. to be entered in the drawing for a great gift basket. The drawing will take place at 8 p.m.
