HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Kansas State Treasurer Steven Johnson and the Learning Quest 529 Education Savings Plan are celebrating National College Savings Month and the start of the Kansas State Fair with a $50 giveaway to the first 500 newly established Learning Quest 529 accounts opened during the duration of the 2024 Kansas State Fair (September 6 - 15).
The Learning Quest College Savings Month Giveaway is available to the first 500 Kansas residents for whom a Learning Quest 529 account is established during the State Fair.
Attendees of the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson can visit the Kansas State Treasurer’s fair booth in the Meadowlark building for assistance with establishing a Learning Quest 529 account. Both fairgoers and non-fairgoers can also visit LearningQuest.com to establish a 529 account and redeem the $50 giveaway.
The State Treasurer’s Office is also excited to announce a free concert series will be performed by award-winning children’s musician, Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove, at the Kansas State Fair. These family-friendly performances will be held at the House of Capper Pavilion on September 10, 11, and 12 at both noon and 1 p.m. Mr. Stinky Feet’s concerts are both interactive and educational. Children can sing and dance while they learn empowering life lessons. Parents are welcome to join in the fun and will have the opportunity to interact with Learning Quest 529 experts about saving for their children’s future educational path.
