HUTCHINSON, Kan. — September sales tax collections for Reno County continued in a positive trend.
The numbers for the month totaled $414,803. The number is the highest ever with the exception of last year when the total was just under $502,000. But that number is misleading as it includes residual revenue left over from the retirement of the ¼ -cent sales tax for the Reno County Correctional Facility.
When compared to 2018 the sales tax for 2020 was more than $71,000 higher. Sales tax figures have increased each of the past four months despite the pandemic-driven economy.
Sales tax figures for this month reflect sales for the month of July.
