🏀 HutchCC downs Seward County for sixth straight win

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team extended its current win streak to six games, as the Blue Dragons defeated Seward County, 67-50 on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.

HutchCC is now 12-5 overall, 8-3 in the Jayhawk Conference.

The Blue Dragons fell behind five in the first half, but settled into the slow paced tempo that the Saints wanted to play.

Hutchinson held a 34-29 lead at halftime.

The Blue Dragons' defense stepped up in the second half and held the Saints to 21 points, while Hutchinson scored 33 second half points.

HutchCC shot 54% from the floor, including 7 of 16 from behind the arc and 10 of 12 at the foul stripe. Seward County was held to 37% on 21 of 56 shooting.

D.J. Dudley led the Blue Dragons with 25 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Khalil Arnold and Bobby Cannon had 11 points apiece, while Bo Aldridge had six points and seven rebounds.

Muhammed Jobe had 20 points to lead an injury-depleted Saints roster.

Hutchinson will travel to Dodge City (6-11, 3-8) on Saturday. The game will tipoff at 3 p.m. inside the Student Activity Center. The game will be broadcasted on KHUT-FM (102.9), the flagship station for Blue Dragon athletics with pregame coverage starting at 12:45 p.m. with Sean Boston (play-by-play) and Daren Dunn (analyst).

Seward County (2-14, 1-10) will travel to Garden City for a 4 p.m. tipoff on Saturday in Conestoga Arena.
