
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Andover Central edged Buhler in the varsity boys competition while Buhler swept the remaining team races Tuesday in a bowling dual at The Alley in Hutchinson.
Andover Central won the varsity boys title with a team total of 3,463, finishing ahead of Buhler’s 3,374. The Jaguars were led by Gunnar Whitney, who rolled a meet-high 722 series to place first individually. Teammate Evan Light added a 682 series, while Colin Light finished with a 610.
Buhler placed two bowlers in the top five, led by Logan Brown’s 680 series, good for third overall. Jackson Sponsel followed with a 636 series as the Crusaders stayed within striking distance throughout the match.
Buhler claimed the varsity girls victory, totaling 2,513 to Andover Central’s 2,216. Macy Miller paced the Crusaders with a 510 series, finishing second overall, while Aubrey Ewing rolled a 508 and Cheyann Geesling added a 424. Andover Central’s Addison Crumley earned top individual honors with a 566 series.
The Crusaders also won both junior varsity contests. Buhler’s JV boys posted a 2,153 team total, led by Brennan Geilenfeldt’s 572 series and KJ Spurlin’s 570, to top Andover Central’s 1,542. Buhler swept the top three individual spots in the JV boys standings.
In the JV girls competition, Buhler finished with a team score of 1,273. Baylee Krase led the way with a 414 series, followed by Brynn Treaster’s 332 and Lelani Strodtman’s 268.
The dual included traditional Baker games, with Andover Central’s varsity boys edging Buhler in Baker play, while Buhler held the advantage in the girls Bakers to secure the overall team wins on that side.
