Raymond “Ray” Wesley Stuart, 90, died March 16, 2021, at his home. He was born June 3, 1930, in Hugoton, to Chester Tipton and Ollie Elizabeth (Davis) Stuart.

Ray graduated from Nowata High School, Nowata, OK. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. Ray worked in sales for Santa Fe Railroad, retiring with 30 years of service. He enjoyed watching sports, but family, faith, and music were Ray’s devoted passions. Ray was a member of American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and Legacy Bible Church, Hutchinson.

On April 17, 1955, he married Catherine Elizabeth Schultz, in Lenapah, OK. 

Ray is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Catherine of Hutchinson; children, Cheryl Mascorro (Mike) of Hutchinson, Daryl Stuart (Tonia) of Loveland, CO, Melinda Pittman, and Lisa Mahanna, both of Bryan, TX; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Richard, Chester, and James; sisters, June Kimes, Marlene Patrick, and Loree Link; and son-in-law, Mike Pittman.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Victor Halfmoon officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, Thursday, March 18, 2021, with the family present from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
