KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals claimed left-handed pitcher Luke Little off waivers from the Chicago Cubs and optioned him to Triple-A Omaha.
Little, 25, appeared in one major league game for Chicago this season. He made 30 appearances, including one start, for the Cubs in 2024.
In 31 minor league outings this year between Double-A Knoxville and Triple-A Iowa, Little went 8-0 with a 5.03 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 39⅓ innings.
To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, Kansas City transferred right-hander Luinder Avila to the 60-day injured list.
