LeRoy Conaway 1945-2021

 LeRoy William Conaway, 76, of Pratt, KS, died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Kansas Veterans Home, Winfield, KS.

He was born on August 26, 1945 in Hardtner, KS, the son of Walter Conaway and Nettie Faye (Lytle) Conaway. He married Roberta A. (Godfrey) Conaway in Medicine Lodge, KS. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2020.

LeRoy was a truck driver and police officer in Medicine Lodge and Barber County. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Medicine Lodge, KS and VFW Post 7625 of Medicine Lodge, KS. He was a US Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Army National Guard.

Surviving are three sons, Joe (Christy) Conaway of West Fork, AR, Charles “Chuck” (Beth) Conaway of Medicine Lodge, KS, and Terry (Melissa) Reno of Pratt, KS; three grandchildren, Joshua, Meghan, and Morgan Conaway; one brother, Glenn (Pearl) Conaway of Medicine Lodge, KS; two sisters, Faye Conaway and Ada (Gilbert) Colborn of Kiowa, KS.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother, Robert “Bob” Conaway, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104 with Pastor Joe Conaway officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
Burial with military honors will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, KS.
