LYONS, Kan. — The City of Lyons announced on Wednesday the retirement of Mr. Ed Truelove.
His last working day with the City of Lyons will be September 1, 2024.
Mr. Truelove has been an asset to the City of Lyons with more than 4 decades in public service, which began with 21 years in the United States Marine Corps, from which he retired in 1997. In 1999, he became a police officer in Wichita, then moved to Sterling, where he served as Chief of Police.
He entered City Administration in 2012 when he accepted the Administrator position in Greensburg Kansas. He then served 8 1/2 years as City Administrator in Neodesha Kansas prior to coming to Lyons, where he began in September of 2023.
As a tribute, the City of Lyons is organizing a retirement reception that will be open to the public to honor Mr. Ed Trulove as an amazing City Administrator, Boss, Father, Grandfather and Friend.
The reception date and time will be announced at a later date.
