One person killed in industrial accident Monday

UPDATE AT 12:30 P.M.

PARTRIDGE, Kan. —  One person has been killed in a workplace accident in rural Reno County Monday morning. 

The Reno County Sheriff’s Department says that a man in his 60s was helping prepare a semi trailer hauling hay at Burling Mills near Arlington when he was run over around 10:20 a.m.

Steve Lutz with the Reno County Sheriff's Office says the victim and another man were prepping the trailer when the driver got in and pulled away. A few moments later they realized that the victim was not with them. They returned to find the man on the ground. It’s not known if the man bent over to pick something up and was hit by the semi or if he may have had a medical condition.

No name has been released. The accident remains under investigation.

ARLINGTON, Kan. —  EMS and rescue crews have been called to the scene of an industrial accident. 

The call came around 10:20 this morning at 13215 S. Partridge Road which is the home of Burling Mills Incorporated.
