HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A new Mexican restaurant is coming to Hutchinson. According to the Hutchinson Planning Department, Abelardo's will move into the old Fazoli's property on East 11th.
The chain started in Omaha, Nebraska, and has 11 stores in the Omaha area along with six restaurants in Iowa, two in Missouri and one in South Dakota. This will be its first venture into Kansas.
Abelardo’s is a dine-in a carryout establishment that also offers catering. Planning Director Ryan Hvitlok says they expect to have more of an idea when the restaurant will open as they work with the developers further.
Fazoli's closed its doors in Hutchinson in the spring of 2017 after 15 years in business.
