James E. Hollaway, 93, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021.  He was born in Coldwater, Kansas to James Frederick Hollaway and Frances (Griffith) Hollaway.  He was in the trucking business for more than 55 years, owning and operating Young & Cooper Trucking Co., with a fleet of 28 cattle trucks.  Jim served in the U.S. Navy as a fireman first class and was honorably discharged due to the death of his father in 1946. As a veteran, he flew with fellow service members on a Kansas Honor Flight in 2013.  In his retirement years, he was an active member of the Lyons Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four siblings and son Michael.  Jim is survived by his wife Lena of 73 years; children James Hollaway Jr. (Donna) of Wichita, Debra Jarvis and Nancy Jackson (Rayland) both of Sedgwick, Sherri Hess (Doug) of Valley Center; 11 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; many other family and friends.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, at Faith Church, 325 N. Emporia in Valley Center, Kansas. A private family burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita, Kansas
