KANSAS GAS SERVICE
Thank you to the Hutchinson community for your patience over the past several days as our crews work to allow for the safe reopening of downtown Hutchinson. We have made good progress, allowing restricted areas to be reduced and businesses to return to near-normal operations.
The following are the new barricade and access details:
• North: On S Main St, the barricade at Ave D has been moved south to the north property line of near-normal 428 S Main St. This change allows access to many properties in the 400 block of S Main St.
• East: On E Ave E, the barricade at S Walnut St has been moved west to the west side of the alley. This allows business owners to access the alley on the east side of the 400 block of Main St.
• West: On W Ave E, the barricade at S Washington St has been moved east to the east side of the alley. This allows business owners on the west side of the 400 block of Main St to access the alley.
• South: No changes. The barricades on the north side of Ave F remain.
Note: Businesses on the east side of the 500 block of S Main St can resume operations, but owners will have rear alley access only due to ongoing street work in front of the 500 block.
Special thanks to the Hutchinson Fire Department for their assistance late last week in escorting business owners to retrieve essential items in the 400 and 500 blocks of South Main Street. We are continuing to contact owners to complete service restoration.
