CHASE COUNTY — A woman from Hutchinson died in an accident just before 10 p.m. Saturday in Chase County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Nissan Altima driven by 32-year-old Briana M. Lane of Hutchinson was westbound on U.S 50 three miles east of Strong City when the Nissan crossed the center line into the eastbound lane and struck a 2015 Freighliner semi driven by 59-year-old Forest F. Dillard, Jr. of Bakersfield, California.
Lane was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Brown-Bennett Funeral Home. Dillard was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
