HAYSVILLE, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs opened the 2024 season dropping a pair of games to the Haysville Aviators Saturday, 4-2, and 7-6.
Haysville held the Monarchs to only 2 unearned runs on 2 hits in the opener which was the postponed game from Friday night.
Hutch jumped on top in the nightcap scoring 3 runs to open the first inning, but the Aviators took control of the game in the bottom half of the 3rd inning 7-5.
The Monarchs were able to score a run in the 5th but fell short losing to the Aviators 7-6.
Haysville pounded out 9 hits while the Monarchs had 5 hits for the night.
Hutchinson (0-2) returns home to Hobart-Detter for their home opener on Monday Night, June 3rd at 7pm.
