The Hutchinson Horticulture Club is hosting its annual plant sale this coming Saturday. The sale will be held in the science lab at the Dillon Nature Center. Doors open at 8 a.m., and the sale ends at 2 p.m.
Betty Taylor of the Horticulture Club said, "The plant sale consists of plants that club members have divided perennials in their yard, grown extra, annuals, whatever they want to donate to the plant sale. I never know what's going to show up until it comes."

"So it's always interesting. But we divide it up into annuals and perennials, wildflowers, vegetables, house plants. We even have some water plants show up, sometimes just a wide variety of plant material, and we try to price it so that we can make a few dollars, but our customers can get a good bargain too," said Taylor.
The funds raised at this event help to support the activities of the club. Those include:
• The annual "Gathering for Gardeners"
• The maintainence of a 50-foot by 15-foot flower bed at the entrance to Carey Park
• Monthly meetings that are held on the third Tuesday of each month.
