HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Karla Nichols with the Reno County Health Department wants to reemphasize the importance of getting vaccinated, especially against COVID-19. All of the approved types of vaccine are available at a special clinic on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Health Department.

"All three vaccines are available," Nichols said. "We will have the Pfizer, which is available for those 12 and older, we will have the Moderna and we will have that one dose Johnson and Johnson."

The county is also planning to increase its notification of the public of case counts in the county again, since numbers have been going up in the last couple of weeks.

"Starting next week, we'll start updating those case totals on a workday daily basis, so the public can be aware of cases in the community," Nichols said. "It's a way for us to continue to remind the community. We need their help in getting vaccinated."

As of the last update 40.7% of Reno County residents have had at least one dose of vaccine.
