HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The United Way of Reno County leads the Reno County VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) for the community and says they are set up to help victims of the fire.
Reno County VOAD was activated Sunday morning in response to the Reno County Fires yesterday. United Way is the backbone organization and chair the VOAD whose mission is to meet the need for ongoing coordination in Reno County providing volunteer, financial, spiritual, physical and/or psychological support for people whose lives have been affected by a disaster in our community.
In coordination with the Reno County Emergency Management the United Way wants to direct individuals to call 211 for both requests for assistance in recovery of the fire and for those wishing to donate financially to the Reno County Fire fund. Those who wish to donate financially to the recovery effort can do so at www.unitedwayofrenocounty.org. or drop a donation at the office located at 924 N. Main.
