ORVALLIS, OregonāOn Friday, the #1 ranked JuCo EDGE rusher in the nation, Nikko Taylor from Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas made his college commitment to play for Coach Smith and the Beavers.
The 6-foot-6, 245 pound Taylor is not rated by the other services, but industry leader, 247Sports has rated him #1 among junior college EDGE rushers, #5 overall junior college player in Kansas, and as the overall #14 ranked junior college player in the nation.
He led the Blue Dragons in sacks this season with seven and also led the team in tackles for loss with 15.5. Taylor and his Hutchinson teammates played in the NJCAA Division I Championship game earlier this week, where they lost to Iowa Western, 31-0.
Taylor is the 19th commitment to the Beavers 2023 class, and the first junior college player to commit to the class. He will sign on Wednesday and will have three years to play two at Oregon State.
