Mildred June Griffin, 91, passed away May 19, in Bedford, Texas. She was born to Amos Robert and Hazel Nadine ( French) Jantz on April 5, 1931, in Montezuma, and was a long-time resident of Hutchinson, ( 1942-2007). She married John Ollie Griffin on August 7, 1954. he preceded her in death.
Mildred was a registered nurse for more than four decades, serving first at Grace Hospital in Hutchinson, then with Hutchinson Hospital. She bore five children, two of whom preceded her in death, Stuart Allen Griffin and Beverly Dawn Weesner.
Surviving are Robert Bruce ( Nancy Jane) Griffin of Florida, Patricia Louise Kelly of Colorado, and Elaine Rene ( David) Plybon of Texas, along with grandchildren Valarie ( Tom) Wise of California, Justin Deckness of Kansas, Eric Kelly of Missouri, Cassondra Plybon, Rene Griffin, Trevor Plybon, Anthony (Victoria) Griffin, and Nathan Griffin, all of Texas, and siblings, Myrna Moore, Juanita Carmichael, both of Kansas, and Marvin Jantz of Colorado. She was grandma to four great-grandchildren and a dearly loved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Mildred lived her life in service to her Lord, and her optimism and compassion were the marks she left on everyone she touched. Her faithful devotion to God and her family is surely rewarded as she moves on from this life.
Memorial services will be held at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home ( date and time to be announced) and she will be interred at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
