Dolores Marie Willems, 89, of McPherson, Kansas, peacefully passed away at 9:46 p.m., Thursday, July 22nd, 2021, at Cedars House.
Dolores was born in Garden City, Kansas on June 5, 1932, a daughter of Esther M. (Simon) and Henry George Erker.
She attended Liberty elementary school, Riverdale, Kansas, and graduated from Wellington High School, Wellington, Kansas in 1950.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church McPherson, Kansas where she was a member of the Altar Society and was involved with weekly Adoration.
Prior to marriage, Dolores worked at Safeway in Wichita in the meat department and was later a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner.
Dolores Marie Erker was united in marriage to Raymond Allen Willems on April 7, 1956 at Wichita, Kansas. They established first home together in Wichita, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of six children, four daughters and two sons, Roxane, Rhonda, Renee, Rex, Raissa, and Randall.
Dolores enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, quilting, embroidery work, and putting puzzles together. She volunteered with Meal on Wheels, made many lap quilts for Angel Arms, and tea towels for the Hospital gift shop. She also spending time with her family and has made baby quilts for all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 65 years, Raymond Willems, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Roxane Gill and husband Jeff, of Salina, Kansas, Rhonda King, of Sevierville, Tennessee, Renee Foster and husband Ronald, of Hutchinson, Kansas, Rex Willems and wife Lorenda, of Wildomar, California, Raissa Andersen, of McPherson, Kansas, and Randall Willems and wife Cheryl, of McPherson, Kansas; 14 grandchildren, Tyler Gill, Trevor Gill, Alan King, Darryl King (Catherine), Michelle King, Robyn Gore (Scott), Ryan Foster, Rochelle Foster, Carissa Chaltas (Cole), Cody Willems, Kelsey Willems, Travis Andersen (Noelle), Nichole Andersen, and Karri Andersen; seven great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Bryan, James Bryan, Beatrice King, Zoey Virus, Jaxon Foster, Rosemary Andersen, and Eleanora Andersen.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers and sister, Donald, Arthur and Clifford Erker, and Dorothy Purdy.
Visitation and Rosary will be held on Tuesday July 27, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Rosary at 7:45 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28th, 2021 with Fr. Ben Shockey officiating.
Final Resting Place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
