HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The death count attributed to COVID-19 in Reno County reached 140, so Hutch Post asked Reno County data analyst D.J. Gering to go back and let us know when each ten deaths were recorded by the county.

10: October 17, 2020

20: November 8, 2020

30: November 14, 2020

40: November 20, 2020

50: December 1, 2020

60: December 7, 2020

70: December 11, 2020

80: December 15, 2020

90: December 23, 2020

100: December 29, 2020

110:  January 12, 2021

120: February 2, 2021

130: February 8, 2021

140: April 30, 2021

Those numbers are based on the reported date to the county rather than the official date of death.

"For date of death numbers I cannot give the specific dates because it would risk identifying those persons if someone were to look up obituaries," Gering said in an email to Hutch Post. "We have to go off the date reported to the health department."

Because each month has multiple deaths, Gering was able to give us the deaths by month using the date of death measure:

2020

July: 1

August: 1

September: 4

October: 15

November: 39

December: 51

2021

January: 18

February: 7

March: 2

April: 2

There is not a specific graph for deaths on the dashboard due to the desire not to inadvertently identify individuals.
