KANSAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin a road reconstruction project on U.S. 50 in Reno County on Monday, Feb. 16, conditions permitting.

The reconstructed section will be from 5.5 miles east of the east US-50/K-61 interchange near Brandy Lake Road east 1.5 miles to South Buhler/Haven Road in Reno County.

Work will occur Monday through Friday during daylight hours. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction between now and summer 2026, with traffic guided by traffic signals after that point until completion.

Pearson Construction, of Wichita, is the prime contractor on the $3.4 million project, which is expected to be complete in spring 2027.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
