LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to acquire left-hander Kris Bubic from the Kansas City Royals for right-hander Carlos Duran, according to multiple sources. Neither team has announced the deal.
Bubic, 28, went 3-4 with a 4.11 ERA in nine starts for Kansas City this season before going on the injured list with left shoulder soreness. He made three rehabilitation starts for Triple-A Omaha in June, but a recurrence of the soreness halted his return.
Bubic earned his first All-Star selection last season, finishing with a 2.55 ERA and 116 strikeouts in 116 1/3 innings over 20 starts.
Duran, 25, has a 3.38 ERA in 37 appearances, including two starts, for Triple-A Oklahoma City this season. He made his major league debut with the Athletics last year, recording one out in his only appearance.
