Posted Jan 17, 2022 4:29 PM

Lois Joanne Ehm, 90, went home to be with the Lord on January 12, 2022, at the Lewisville Medical City Hospital, in Lewisville, Texas.  She was born on December 27, 1931, in Goodland, to Clyde and Bessie (Clonch) Shantz.

Her father worked on the railroad, so the family moved between Kansas and Colorado when she was a girl.  The Lord brought her to saving faith at the age of nine.  Her family moved to Phillipsburg, when she was in junior high school.  She graduated from Phillipsburg High School.

She met Loren Ehm at church when he came back from serving in WWII.  They were married on October 21, 1951.  They shared 43 years of Christian marriage, prior to his death on March 19, 1995.  They had 3 children.

Throughout her lifetime, Lois served as a telephone operator, homemaker, farm wife, hospitality service worker, school bus driver, and school cafeteria cook.  She was gifted in hospitality and loved serving her church, friends, and neighbors. Her hobbies included traveling, gardening, sewing, and reading.  She was a member of Crestview Bible Church, in Hutchinson.

Lois is survived by: her daughter, Jan Troyer and husband Scott of Lewisville, TX; son, Brent Ehm and wife Daneen of Potwin; grandchildren, Kane Christy and wife Brandy, Cheyenne Troyer, Tate Troyer and wife Stephanie, Kyrstie Lindhorst and husband Lane, and Kyler Ehm; 7 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Barbara Schneider of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; beloved husband, Loren; son, Tim Ehm; and grandson, Clint Christy.

Above all, Lois loved her family and her Lord. As she was looking forward to seeing her heavenly Savior, her last request to her family was, “Be happy for me.”
