Michael Eugene and Delinda Lea Kaufman, both 67, of Hutchinson, died July 14, 2020, in an accident west of Concordia. Michael was born October 16, 1952, in Hutchinson, to Victor Herman and Joan Eileen (Hanselman) Kaufman. Delinda was born May 10, 1953, in Hutchinson, to Darold L. and Donna L. (Tillery) Baker.
Michael and Delinda were 1971 graduates of Nickerson High School. He was employed for twenty-two years with the City of South Hutchinson Police Department, retiring in 2006. Michael then went to work in security at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Delinda worked as a Certified Medications Aide (CMA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for various medical facilities in the Hutchinson area.
They were married on June 23, 1972, in Hutchinson. Michael and Delinda shared over forty-eight years of marriage.
Michael and Delinda are survived by their children, Brandon (Lori) Kaufman of Amarillo, TX, and Karisa Kaufman of Wichita; grandchildren, Cassie Kaufman-Danks, Hanna Kaufman, Ethan Alexander, Garrett Kaufman, and Hunter Kaufman; Michael’s father, Victor Kaufman; Michael’s two brothers and one sister; and Delinda’s two brothers and two sisters.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother. Delinda was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at a future date. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Kansas, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
