⛳ Trinity Catholic's Casebolt wins Nickerson Invitational

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Trinity Catholic placed second and Buhler’s junior varsity squad finished third Monday at the Nickerson Invitational golf tournament at Crazy Horse Golf Course.

Hoisington won the team title with a 346, edging Trinity Catholic by two strokes. The Celtics carded a 348 to finish runner-up, while Buhler JV posted a 364 for third.

Trinity Catholic was paced by medalist Tyler Casebolt, who shot a 6-over-par 78 to claim individual honors. Casebolt finished two shots clear of Hoisington’s Mason Martin, who was second at 80.

The Celtics placed four golfers inside the top 21 overall. Matt Armour added an 87 to place ninth, Ian Shaw shot 90 for 14th, and Dean Nelson finished 21st with a 93. Miles Blaylock rounded out Trinity’s team scoring with a 96, good for 24th place.

Buhler’s JV team was led by Ben Gazaway, who tied for third individually with an 83. Carter Harris and Race Lusk each shot 91 to tie for 17th, while Brennan Geilenfeldt and Talan Martin both posted 99s to help the Crusaders secure third place.

Sterling placed sixth as a team with a 400. Cameron Morris led the Black Bears with a 96 to finish 23rd overall, while Lane Weigel followed with a 97 to tie for 25th. Wyatt Newberry added a 99 and Ian Dillard shot 108.

Lyons finished eighth with a 403. Noah Geeves paced the Lions with a 91, tying for 17th individually. Elijah Lyon added a 101, while Derek Valerio shot 105 and Easton Benavidez finished at 106.

Pretty Prairie was ninth at 421, led by Dawson Dick’s 99, which tied for 31st overall. Eli Anderson followed with a 100, and Eli Young and Weston Lanning each shot 111.

Host Nickerson placed 11th with a 443. Jacob Myers and Lane Hoskinson each shot 100 to tie for 34th and lead the Panthers. Gage Hoskinson followed with a 121, Kyler Nikkel carded a 122, and Brayden Mathis finished at 123.
