NICKERSON — Nickerson High School has announced the hiring of Allie Frederick as its new head girls basketball coach, bringing a blend of competitive experience and a focus on student-athlete development to the program.
Frederick, a graduate of Clay Center High School, was a standout player during her prep career. She qualified for the state tournament all four years and was part of a Class 4A Division II state championship team. She continued her basketball career at Bethany College, gaining collegiate-level experience before transitioning into coaching.
School officials say Frederick has built a strong foundation working with athletes at both the middle school and high school levels, in addition to involvement in youth programs. At Nickerson, she is already a familiar presence, currently coaching volleyball and softball.
Frederick is recognized for emphasizing a positive team culture centered on accountability, effort and toughness. She also places a strong focus on helping student-athletes grow into confident and respectful individuals beyond the game.
Nickerson High School officials expressed enthusiasm about the direction of the girls basketball program under Frederick’s leadership, noting her commitment to developing well-rounded athletes and fostering long-term success on and off the court.
