WICHITA, Kan. — The Seattle Studs combined for big innings in the fourth and fifth innings to run-rule the Hutchinson Monarchs, 17-6, Monday night in the final round of pool play at Wichita State's Eck Stadium.
Seattle scored 11 runs in those two inning to run their record to 3-0 in pool A and earn a bye in the single-elimination bracket that starts Wednesday at the NBC.
Hutchinson falls to 1-2, but will advance to the single-elimination bracket as three teams out of each pool advance. The Monarchs opponent is to be announced.
Matchups for bracket play will be determined after pool play in completed on Tuesday.
