
RENO COUNTY, Kan. — Several law enforcement and emergency agencies responded Monday to a three-vehicle crash on K-96 Highway near the bridge at 82nd Avenue that left at least one person dead and others injured.
According to authorities, the crash occurred Monday morning, prompting a large emergency response that included the Hutchinson Fire Department, Reno County Sheriff’s Office, Reno County EMS, Nickerson Fire Department and other assisting agencies.
Officials said at least one person was killed in the crash. Additional victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
K-96 remains closed at 56th Avenue as crews work the scene, and traffic is being diverted. Authorities are urging motorists to avoid the area and give responders room to work.
The crash remains under investigation. More details will be shared when available.
