HAVEN, Kan. — As the Haven USD 312 School Board looks at tweaking its pandemic gating criteria, the district announced Wednesday afternoon that two students at Yoder Charter School have tested positive for COVID-19. Per the district's established protocol, workers are thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting areas within the facility.
The district also says it is in contact with the Reno County Health Department and will take the steps necessary to protect the health of staff and students.
The district says it is closely monitoring this situation and will notify families if any additional actions need to be taken in the near future.
The board will be meet on Monday to discuss whether to change how the district reacts to the pandemic. Board members have expressed a desire to possibly take action on a building-by-building basis, thus possibly keeping some buildings open that are not affected by COVID-19 should an outbreak happen.
