HUTCHINSON, Kan. — On Wednesday Oct. 9, 2024, Officers with Hutchinson Police Department Special Operations Unit arrested Shay L. Kane, 37 years old, Eureka, Kansas, on a probable cause warrant for distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death, conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance resulting in death, and unlawful use of a communication device (13 counts). The bond was set at $250,000.
This arrest is associated with a fatal drug overdose that occurred in Hutchinson in June 2024.
The Hutchinson Police Department would like to thank Greenwood County Sheriff's Office - Kansas and Butler County Sheriff's Office for their assistance during the investigation and arrest of Ms. Kane.
