Mary Jessie Medrano, 89, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her home in Wichita, KS. Mary was born June 4, 1931 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Jose Porfirio and Tomaza (Gonzalez) Medina.
On August 12, 1953 she married Joseph G. Medrano in Kansas City, MO.
She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Hutchinson, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, three infant children, a sister Ramona Medina and a brother David Kennedy.
Mary is survived by her seven children, Joseph A. Medrano of Hutchinson, John M. (Maria) Medrano of Independence, MO, Margarita (Daniel) Palacios of Hutchinson, Sallie (David) Holman of Arlington, TX, Rita S. (Enrique) Gonzalez of Wichita, Gabriel (Kim) Medrano of Nederland, TX, and Salvador (Rachael) Medrano of Wichita; a brother, Victor Kennedy of Stockton, MO; twenty-two grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A Rosary Service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2021 St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th Ave., Hutchinson, KS, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson, KS. Memorials may be given to the church and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
