Gary Dale Eis, 56, passed away on January 25, 2022, at his home in Newton.
He was born on August 12, 1965, in Manhattan, the son of Charles Eis III and Roberta (Greever) Heckman.
Gary attended Newton High School, graduating with the class of 1984. Following high school he attended vocational school for drafting leading to a career in telecommunications, working in Topeka, Wichita and Kansas City.
Gary’s love for the Dallas Cowboys started at a young age and continued throughout his life. Football season was his favorite time of the year. He also enjoyed riding his bike, spending time with family, and especially loved his cats, He-She and Tate.
Gary is survived by his mother, Roberta Heckman of Newton, Kansas; son, Evan Wohlenhaus of Orlando, Florida; brothers, David (Becky) Eis of Shell Knob, Missouri and Doug Suter and Neil Suter both of Wichita, Kansas; nephew, Christopher Eis of Chicago, Illinois; and niece, Lauren (Chad) Eis-Heikkinen of San Antonio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Eis III; step-father, John “Pop” Heckman; and brother, Charles Eis IV.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Petersen Funeral Home. A private family burial will follow.
