SHAWNEE COUNTY – Law enforcement authorities are investigating the death of a woman and have made an arrest.
Just before at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies from the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 800 block of SW 57th Street for a death investigation, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
Deputies arrived on scene and discovered the body of a deceased adult woman.
After a preliminary investigation deputies arrested Jon K. Ewing, 61, of Topeka and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of voluntary manslaughter. He remains jailed on a $1,000,000.00 bond, according to online jail records.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim or details on how she died.
