
NESS COUNTY —A traffic stop in Ness County led a drug-related arrested in Ness County Thursday night.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., an officer with the Ness County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle reported at H Road on Kansas 96 in Ness County, according to an announcement attributed to Sherrif Brandon Mitchell on Facebook Friday morning.
During the traffic investigation, K9 Kaia was deployed and indicated drugs were in the vehicle.
"A preliminary probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and approximately 21 individual air-sealed bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located," Mitchell said.
The male driver, who was not identified, was arrested on charges including felony distribution of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mitchell also said this is an ongoing investigation with formal charges pending in Ness County, but all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
