There were not enough members for a quorum on Monday, so the USD 309 school board meeting was moved to Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Nickerson High School gym.
At that meeting, the Board will go over the revised calendar for teachers and students which will see classes begin September 2. The district will have both at home and in-person learning and will go over both plans. The onsite learning includes safety procedures for students, and how activities such as meals and extracurricular events will be held.
As an added safety precaution, the board will also seek approval to purchase 15 temperature check stations for students and staff as they enter buildings. The cost of the units is $12,583.
Also, the board will take action on whether to add new goal posts and game clocks to the new football field project. The board will also take action on putting the project out for bid. If approved, bids would be opened September 9. The board will also seek approval of the budget and set a date for the public hearing.
