Lucia Amalie Adam, 93, passed away on October 8, 2020 at her home in Hutchinson, KS of natural causes. She was born on November 13, 1926 in Germany to Heinrich and Martah Schidelko - Owzorz.

Lucia grew up and attended school in Bavaria and Czechoslovakia and continued with business classes at Hutchinson Junior College after moving to the United States. Lucia met Valentine Adam Jr. during WWII and they were married for 58 years. Lucia made it her life’s work and passion to manage restaurants and feed people. She was the owner of the Edelweis Club in Hutchinson KS. She was also an avid knitter and quilter, and made numerous quilts for World Relief. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross both in Europe and America.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Heinrich and Martah Schidelko-Owzorz; husband, Valentine Adam Jr; sisters, Geisla Marcellas and Dorthy Polodna; daughter, Peggy Konkle; grandchild, Sheila Woods and son-in-law, Rodger Woods Sr.

Lucia is survived by daughter, Irene Woods and son, Marvin Adam (Peggy); five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

There will be a receiving of friends and graveside service for family and close friends on Saturday October 10, 2020, with a memorial celebration to be held in the summer of 2021. Service officiated by Quentin Nuttmann of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hutchinson Funeral Chapel & Crematory.
