
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce and NAACP announced Tuesday they will be hosting a debate for the candidates vying for election to the Kansas Statehouse and Reno County Commission.
On Tuesday, October 11th a Candidate Debate will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Hutchinson Community College Stringer Fine Arts Center, 600 E 11th Ave.
Invited candidates include contested races for Kansas State Representatives and Reno County Commissioner.
Calvin Wright, President of the local NAACP of Hutchinson will serve as emcee. Richard Shank, Chamber Public Policy Committee member will act as the moderator. Candidates will have the opportunity to make opening and closing statements and during the question and answer period, candidates will be given questions and have an opportunity to provide a rebuttal. A limited number of questions will be accepted from the audience, or can be submitted in advance to [email protected].
There is no cost to attend. Members of the Chamber and NAACP, as well as the general public are encouraged to attend.
