Margaret Sue Schattak, 84, of Moundridge, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Pine Village. She was born June 21, 1937 in Dothan, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles C. and Alta (Lyons) Roop.
She graduated from Collins High School in Oak Hill, West Virginia, with the class of 1954. Margaret later served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958, attaining the rank of Airman 2nd Class.
Margaret was united in marriage to Glenn A. Schattak on April 12, 1968 at Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2016.
She worked as a secretary for Cooperative Grain and Supply in Hillsboro, retiring in 1995.
Margaret enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, listening to music and watching true crime TV shows. She loved her granddaughters and great-grandkids and adored being called “GiGi”.
She is survived by her daughter, Liane Cope and husband, Tracy of Moundridge; granddaughters, Lindsy Phillips and husband, Shawn of Park City, and Codi Cusick and husband, Brett of Mulvane; great-grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Addison and Troy Phillips, and Branch Cusick; and sister, Marty Isaac of Newton.
Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings, James, Bobby, Betty June, Patricia Ann, and Charles Allen.
Cremation is planned with graveside services to be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2022 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery with military honors.
