William ‘Will’ Frank Ruckle, 80, passed away April 1, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born August 23, 1941, in Wichita, to Frank and Melba (Barricklow) Ruckle.
Will lived on a farm south of Cheney for 42 years, before moving to Hutchinson 10 years ago. He was the owner of Ruckle Manufacturing, where he worked as a machinist and tool builder. Will was known as a ‘jack-of-all-trades’.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and bowling. Will could also be found watching Westerns on the television. He loved to work in the garden and his yard was his ‘pride and joy’. Will spent many hours on his various activities, but the time that he most cherished was when he was spending time with the family, especially the grandkids.
On October 1, 1960, Will married Janet Faye Huenergardt, in Wichita. They shared over 61 years of marriage.
Will is survived by: his wife, Janet Ruckle of Hutchinson; children, Kenny (Linda) Ruckle of Burrton; and Teri (Gary) Eckhoff of Hutchinson; grandsons, A. J. Eckhoff of Lenexa; and Daniel (Paige) Eckhoff of Salina; granddaughter, Amy Malcom of Wichita; great-grandson, Owen Eckhoff; great-granddaughters, Amyah, Ariauna, and Aleana Malcom; brothers, Ricky Ruckle of Oregon; and Marvin (Cindy) Ruckle of Wichita; sisters, Judy (Dave) Stolzheise of Wichita; and Gail Ruckle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandson, Gabriel Eckhoff; brothers, James Ruckle, George Ruckle, Clinton Ruckle, and Don Ruckle; and sisters, Myrtle Middleton and Helen Ruckle.
Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a future date.
