⚾ Severino hits a slam in Wichita Wind Surge win

WICHITA, Kan. – Yunior Severino hammered a third inning grand-slam and the Wichita Wind Surge evened up the series with a 7-2 win.

The Wind Surge offense erupted with the six run third inning. The Surge sent ten batters to the plate with Yoyner Fajardo driving in two with an RBI double. Severino cleared the bases with his team leading twelfth home run of the season and the Surge led 6-0.

Carlos Luna dealt five and two third innings allowed two runs on four hits and earned his first win of the season. Kyle Hurt took the loss allowing six runs.

The Wind Surge bullpen dealt three and a third innings of scoreless relief. The Wind Surge snapped a two game losing streak and ended Tulsa’s seven game win streak.

NOTES: The Drillers lead the 2023 Propeller Series five games to three. Yunior Severino hit his 12th home run second in the league and leads the team with 32 RBI. Its the first grand slam of the season.

UPCOMING – The Wichita Wind continue the home series against the Tulsa Drillers on Thursday night at 7:05. LH Aaron Rozek will face RH Nick Nastrini.
