DEXTER, Kan. (AP) — A 67-year-old Kansas woman who wandered out of her home during the night was found dead in subzero temperatures.

Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti says deputies responding to a call about a missing woman found Linda Patton in front of her Dexter home sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Falletti said she was wearing only a nightgown and likely died from the cold. He said he did not know how long she had been outside.
