HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Captain Ron Kaufman was recognized on August 22nd for completing his 5-year service commitment as a SWAT Medic. 

Captain Kaufman was part of a small group of firefighters that took on the challenge of cross training with the Reno County SWAT team. This small group initiated what is now Hutchinson Fire TEMS (Tactical Emergency Medical Service).

This group of firefighters work right alongside Reno County SWAT. They are right in the middle of the action and provide immediate medical aide to SWAT members. This is very demanding work, physically and mentally, and time consuming.

HFD congratulates Captain Kaufman on a job well done.
