TOPEKA —Kansas Senator Bud Estes has died, according to his family in a media release from Senate President Ty Masterson.
Estes, 74, of Dodge City was first elected to serve the state's 38th District in 2016 and reelected in 2020. Prior to his time in the Senate, Estes served in the House for four years representing the 119th District.
During his time in the Kansas Senate, Estes was chairman of the Federal and State Affairs Committee and Vice Chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee.
