LYONS, Kan. — The City of Lyons has officially welcomed Blake Nichols as its new chief of police following his swearing-in ceremony Wednesday.
Nichols takes over leadership of the Lyons Police Department and will serve the community alongside the department's officers and staff.
Nichols succeeds the department's previous leadership as he begins his tenure overseeing law enforcement operations in Lyons. His appointment marks a new chapter for the department as it continues its partnership with the Rice County Sheriff's Office and other local agencies to provide public safety services throughout the area.
Sgt. Cory Ryan has served as the department's interim chief since March 16th of this year.
