HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Youth City Council President Michael Glenn spoke to his adult counterparts at their Tuesday meeting.
"With the Hutchinson Youth City Council, we were wondering if, for our own executive sessions, we can use the council conference rooms in the back behind the chamber here?" Glenn asked. "If that would be all right with the regular City Council, whether it be after our own meetings on the third Tuesdays every month, or on another specific date that doesn't interfere with your own executive sessions back there."
City Manager Kendal Francis said he thinks that will work, but he wants to clarify some things.
"I'd say yes, we could accommodate that," Francis said. "My initial thought is, probably immediately following your normally scheduled meetings is going to be the easiest just for our scheduling so that we can know when to plan it. I would like to sit down with you and the council and talk through a few things. I did watch your meeting. I applaud you guys for the start that you got."
No word yet on when that meeting between Francis and the Youth Council might take place, but the Youth Council's next regular meeting is scheduled for the evening of Jan. 17.
