For the second-straight week, Hutchinson Community College football sophomore Kordell Gouldsby was named the KJCCC's Special Teams' Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Gouldsby, a sophomore receiver/return specialist from Tulsa, returned a pair of punts for touchdowns as the No. 1-ranked Blue Dragons rolled over Independence 71-12 on Saturday at Gowans Stadium.
Gouldsby had returns of 34 and 56 yards for scores to lead the Blue Dragon special teams.
He averaged 29.5 yards per punt returns and became the first Blue Dragon since 2023 to return to punts for touchdowns in the same game.
Gouldsby now has five career returns for touchdowns.
This is the eighth time this season a Blue Dragon has won a conference weekly honor and he is the third Blue Dragon to win two Player of the Week honors. Receiver Derrick Salley Jr. and quarterback Christian Johnson are the others to do so.
The Blue Dragons have a Top 10 matchup this week as No. 1 Hutchinson meets No. 10 Coffeyville at 7 p.m. Saturday at Gowans Stadium.
