ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs quarterbacks and rookies report to Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, on Thursday as the team begins preparations for the 2026 season.
The first several days of training camp will emphasize rookie development and quarterback work before the veterans join the team. The Chiefs’ first full-team practice is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29.
Much of the attention will center on Patrick Mahomes as he continues his recovery from a torn ACL in his left knee suffered in December. Mahomes participated in the team’s offseason program, but his workload and mobility will remain among the biggest storylines throughout camp.
Kansas City’s quarterback room also includes offseason acquisition Justin Fields, fifth-year Chief Chris Oladokun and rookie Garrett Nussmeier, a seventh-round selection from LSU.

The Chiefs will open the preseason against the Los Angeles Rams at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Kansas City will begin the regular season in prime time, hosting the Denver Broncos at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, on “Monday Night Football.”
