
Eleanor Navarro, 94, of Hutchinson, passed away on Monday December 28, 2020, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center due to complications from Covid. Eleanor was born on April 17, 1926 in Hutchinson, the daughter of T.C. Martinez and Lucia Hernandez Martinez.
She attended Hutchinson schools. Eleanor was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson. She worked as a nursing assistant at Grace Hospital and later as a private care giver. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society and Church Women United. Eleanor married Abraham Navarro on August 01, 1943 in Hutchinson; he preceded her in death on September 8, 1998.
Survivors include their children, Marsha Thompson and Daniel Navarro both of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Carmella (Wilhelm) de Beer, Sonya Huhn, Meghan Navarro, and Jacob (Lizbeth) Navarro; seven great grandchildren, Sarah (Jonathan) Blanton, Cole Robbins, Makayla (Eli) Corino, Tatyana Huhn, Xavier Jaques, Amaya Parker, and Alonzo Navarro; five great-great grandchildren, Kaden Robbins, Kolton Robbins, Max Blanton, Lily Robbins, and Kassidy Corino; two sisters, Beatrice Almanza, and Jessie Viegra both of Hutchinson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons Michael and Joseph Navarro; brothers, Julian Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Concho Martinez, and Raymond Martinez; sister, Mary Augusto, and great grandson Carson Webber.
Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, KS. with Father Charles Seiwert officiating. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS.
